Continuing Education
What is the purpose of required CEUs?
The purpose of CE (Continuing Education) standards is to insure that all Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teachers continue to refine their teaching skills and the educational process.
Once you have earned a Yoga Alliance Approved Certification, how many CEUs (Continuing Education Units) do you need to retain your standing as a qualified teacher of Yoga?
Every three years, Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teachers are required to teach at least 45 classroom hours, and to accumulate 30 CEUs through yoga teacher trainings, workshops, courses, and yoga discussion groups, in any of five Yoga Alliance identified categories (at least 10 of which must be contact hours). Learn more at http://www.yogaalliance.com.
What documentation is required of earned CEUs?
The workshop instructor must provide proof of your attendance in the form of a CEU certificate, or equivalent. At the end of the three-year CEU period, you are required to submit your CEU documentation, along with updated registration information and YA renewal fee. There is no carry-over of excess CEUs into the next three-year period. You may obtain a grid to help keep track of your accumulated CEUs at http://www.yogaalliance.com.
The Yoga Alliance was formed to support you, and to protect the integrity of your yoga professionalism. Please help to uphold that integrity by continuing your yoga education throughout your career, and life. |
