The
experience of a Yoga retreat, whether it be for
a weekend up North or a couple of weeks in a tropical
paradise, can refresh and transform you well beyond
the reaches of your current practice. Being away
from your day to day responsibilities to go deeply
into your yoga practice, surrounded with friends
of like mind and heart prepares you to re-enter
your life with renewed enthusiasm and vigor. A
short weekend away can have the effects of a year's
worth of therapy!
Our
latest UNION/YOGA RETREAT was on Drummond Island
in January of 2001. Due "mitigating circumstances" we opted
to stay closer to home than our Spring 2001 Hawaiian
Yoga adventure.
Drummond
is off the eastern-most tip of Michigan's upper
peninsula. We were well in anticipation of mounds
of snow and outdoor fun on blades and boards, but
Mother Nature tricked us with balmy-no snow!- weather
and sunny skies. So we walked and talked, and did
lots of yoga. We ate fantastically, made new friends,
and bonded in our love of nature's beauty, and
the transcendent effects of being in that incredible
space during a sustained and deep practice. The
weekend format was, in the words of one practitioner,
"Just long enough and Drummond was just far enough
away to make it feel like a real Big Adventure
without having to spend much time or money to do
it."
We invite you to stay posted to www.unionyoga.com
for other weekend and greater leaps in the future.
And, if you have any bright ideas about future
venues, we'd love to hear from you!
